lyrics

Spoken Word Transcript: Dr. Jordan B. Peterson on Rule 4: Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not who someone else is today.

“You should be better than you are, but it’s not because you’re worse than other people, it’s because you’re not everything you should be, and so you’ve got to pick the comparison right, and that’s also ennobling, and instantly hopeful. There’s absolutely no doubt that you can be slightly better tomorrow, than you are today. You see that’s the fundamental issue, life is tragic. It’s full of suffering and it’s full of malevolence, and we don’t know what would happen if you put everything you could right, but you could be certain that it would be less tragic and less malevolent."

An inherent challenge faced by those, who intend to leave their mark upon the earth. Is acceptance of our weight to bear, when stood forthrightly, with eyes wide open and shoulders back.

We are all charged with the same, moral obligation to be a beacon of light.
To discard the negative aspects of ourselves that prevent the attainment of competence.

In an effort to fulfil this goal, we must intend to defeat our former selves.
By a process of acknowledging flaws, and enacting change to address the consequence of our inaction.

Life justifies itself despite its limitation when collective needs align. There’s meaning found within the gaps between the increments of a collective change over time.

Meaning skirts the line where order and chaos intersect.

He who has a ‘why’ can bear any ‘how’.

Being skirts the line where strengths and weaknesses intersect.

Life justifies itself.

Pursue a meaningful life, forego immediate gain, reconfigure your vision to ensure that your sight aligns with goals that are measured in years and not days.

And they will start manifesting.

Meaning skirts the line where order and chaos intersect.

Life justifies itself.
